Together again!

YPT is excited to welcome campers for week-long sessions this summer at our new Southside Theater space in Building D at Fort Mason, while also anticipating offering after-school and weekend Academy classes this fall.

YPT summer camp is a fun way for kids to experience the magic of working collaboratively to bring stories to life in a supportive, nourishing environment. Each week will take the form of a self-contained workshop. The kids will develop their own characters, improvise situations and dialogue, and, with guidance from an instructor, weave their adventures into an original script. The process culminates in a performance.

To secure a spot, please register below. Questions or concerns? Email info@ypt.org.

Please note that all class sales are final. If a class is under-enrolled, we may have to cancel it, in which case you’ll be given the option of changing to another class, receiving a credit or reimbursement in full (only because we are responsible for the cancellation). Please understand that this is the only time reimbursement will be offered. If your child cannot attend a class after payment is made, you can apply their tuition fee towards any future class or summer camp, with no expiration date.

PERFORMANCE THEATRE WORKSHOP

This fun, challenging workshop offers instruction on acting, improvisation and character development. Based on improvisational games, students create their own characters. An original play featuring those characters becomes a fully staged production, which will be videoed and shared with families. Actors will see their ideas take shape as they follow the entire process from conception to script, stage and video. Musical theater elements can be incorporated into any of the sessions. Ages 8-15. Tuition: $580.
