Through Theatre in Education and outreach programs, repertory productions, classes and summer camps, YPT helps children build core social-emotional learning skills and sets the stage for success in many fields of endeavor outside of performance.

Theater in Education (TIE)

Bringing enrichment programming to schools, child-care facilities and community centers in the Bay Area, with an emphasis on providing a range of options — from classes and workshops to fully staged productions — tailored to the youth-development needs and cultural identities of the institutions served.

Repertory Company

On YPT’s main stage at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, children from elementary to high school age perform plays for young audiences and gain insight into the process of a professional theatre company.

Theatre Arts Academy

After-school and weekend classes for children from pre-K to high-school age, teaching the fundamentals of story structure, character development, dramatization and improvisation, as well as musical theatre, stagecraft and tech.

Summer Camps

Students act out classic and contemporary stories, stage mini-musicals and develop and perform scripts of their own making. YPT also collaborates with Blue Bear School of Music and San Francisco Children's Art Center to offer camps combining music, visual arts and drama.
